German Kabirski left the crystals uncut and untreated, in the honey-to-olive greens they came out of the ground in, wrapped each one in sterling silver and fitted them together into a full disc using his stained glass technique. The whole piece is plated in gold, so the seams between the stones glow like the grout of a sunlit floor, and the round form makes it read as a small medallion of mosaic you happen to carry on a chain rather than walk across.
