Namru Singular Edition Natural Raw Green Tourmaline Slice Silver Ring

The stone here is a slice — a cross-section sawn straight through a green tourmaline crystal and left exactly as the saw left it. No faceting, no polishing, and no attempt to trim away the parts a cutter would reject, so the slice keeps everything the crystal grew with: its gas bubbles, its internal scratches and fractures, its hollows and cloudy zones, the natural outline of the crystal wall. That is the point. It sits in a wide sterling silver band plated in black ruthenium, with 18K gold at the setting, and along the lower edge four raw tsavorite garnets pick up the green and carry it down the ring.

Namru is for someone who prefers the inside of things to the finish — art seen in section, freedom kept in working order, and no interest in the version of a stone that's been made presentable. If you've been looking at the bubbles, that's the introduction.
