Chrysoberyl is the third-hardest gemstone on Earth after diamond and corundum, and the family that gives us alexandrite and cat's eye — in its plain form it comes in greens and golden yellows that look like sunlight caught in olive oil. German Kabirski took the crystals raw, uncut and untreated, wrapped each in sterling silver and fitted them edge to edge into a solid disc in his stained glass technique, then plated the whole thing in gold. The result reads like a coin struck from crystal rather than metal, seams glowing between the stones like the lines on an old map, something you'd expect to see behind glass in a museum of found objects rather than on a chain.

Anzah has the steadiness of a very hard stone and the warmth of a very yellow one, and it looks for the same mix in people: the ones who hold their ground on art and freedom without making a fuss about it, and who create because standing still was never an option.
