Description
This ring is named after Thoth - the Egyptian god of wisdom, writing, and the moon, most often depicted as an ibis. The stone at its center is not an ornament. It is an authentic ancient amulet, carved from glazed steatite, part of a group of nine amulets associated with Near Eastern apotropaic traditions of the first millennium BCE - where such objects functioned as personal protective devices and ritual items. The ibis and crescent carved in low relief on its surface were made for protection, worn close to the body as a personal talisman long before it became part of this ring. Surface wear, small chips, and softened relief are present throughout, consistent with age and prolonged handling or burial. Sourced from a private European collection, acquired on the art market in the late 20th century. Set in 925 silver plated with black ruthenium, with rough rubies along the band - stones of passion, protection, and vital force. This is a singular edition - handmade by the designer himself with no second copy in existence. For those who wear history, not just jewelry. PLEASE NOTE: This ring is made with an authentic ancient artifact and natural raw gemstones that may exhibit cracks, scratches, and color irregularities - these are not flaws, but marks of authenticity and age. Gemstone colors may appear differently depending on lighting conditions; please refer to the model photo for the most accurate representation.
