Sizing: The Perfect Ring

The perfect ring must have the perfect fit. You can use our size guide below once you have measured your finger using some advice from our experienced jewelers. This will make sure you have a ring that is made for your finger alone.

Firstly, make sure to measure at the right time of day. Your fingers get a little bigger towards evening time, so try not to measure in the morning. Night time is best. Also make sure your hands are warm, as temperature can also affect their size. If you are hoping to wear a thicker band of ring, make sure to go up a full size, as these designs tend to have a tighter fit than slimmer bands. It is important to measure the finger on which you intend to wear the ring for the most suitable fit.

You can easily do this at home using a slim strip of paper and a pencil. Simply encircle your chosen finger so the paper strip snugly fits around it. Make a mark with your pencil where the paper touches.

Lay the paper strip flat and measure it with a ruler or measuring tape (make sure to do this in millimeters) and then divide the result by 3.14. Use our helpful chart below to source your size.

Description

Desher is sculpture first and a ring second. Raw ruby crystals are embedded throughout the gold-plated silver body and push out through its surface, small and uncut, like precious freckles working their way up from underneath the skin. On top sits a single natural freshwater baroque pearl — white, smooth, faintly lopsided in the way only real pearls are — the one calm object in a piece that is otherwise all texture and heat. Everything about it was made once and by hand, and it has the presence of something that belongs on a plinth with a small card next to it.

It looks for someone who wears their contradictions openly — softness and fire in the same gesture, art as the point of the day, freedom as a given. If you've been staring at the pearl and the freckles in turn, you're the person it had in mind.

PLEASE NOTE: This piece is made with rough gemstones left exactly as mined — uncut, unpolished, untreated. Cracks, inclusions, uneven colouring and irregular shapes are not flaws but markers of the stone's natural origin.
