Ugnit Singular Edition Natural Raw Spessartine Mosaic Silver Pendant

Spessartine is the garnet that runs orange — from amber through to the blazing tangerine that earned it the trade name mandarin garnet — and gem-quality crystals are genuinely scarce, which is why most people have never held one. German Kabirski gathered a handful in the raw, uncut and untreated, wrapped each in sterling silver and joined them into a mosaic in his stained glass technique. The silver is plated in black rhodium throughout, so the orange stones sit in a dark lattice like embers in a grate — Ugnis is Lithuanian for fire, and the name isn't a stretch. A small, hot piece of contemporary art with a chain attached.
