Nigredo Stained Glass Silver Pendant with Raw Mali Garnet Mosaic

Nigredo is built around a technique German invented himself, one the studio calls stained glass: raw, uneven crystals of mali garnet, part of the green garnet family, individually wrapped in silver and locked together to form the entire round surface, the same way lead holds pieces of colored glass into a window. Nothing here is cut to match anything else. Each crystal kept its own shape from the ground, and the silverwork bends around every irregular edge to build the disc out of the stones themselves.

The piece is plated in black ruthenium and gold over sterling silver, and it exists as one object only. There's no way to order a second one — the pattern comes from the exact crystals German had in front of him that day, and that combination doesn't repeat. This is wearable art made for one person, built to be worn as a fixed piece of someone's identity.
