Khesbe Singular Edition Natural Raw Ruby & Baroque Pearl Mosaic Silver Pendant

A tall rectangular panel of natural raw rubies — uncut and untreated, each wrapped in sterling silver and joined edge to edge in German Kabirski's stained glass mosaic technique — with its upper edge broken open and two baroque pearls sitting in the breach as if they grew there afterwards. The long geometry gives Khesbe its architecture, the fracture gives it a story, and the pearls, lopsided and free-form as baroque pearls always are, mount a soft argument against all the straight lines. Plated in white rhodium with 18K gold accents, it's a big, deliberate piece of contemporary art that expects to be the first thing anyone notices.

Khesbe has a thing for people who don't mind being unfinished — the ones who treat a break as a beginning, who make art out of what didn't go to plan and call their freedom exactly that. It isn't interested in anyone tidy. If you recognise the type, so does it.
