Ocellus Singular Edition Natural Pear Cut Topaz & Raw Tsavorite Textured Silver Pendant

Ocellus is the anatomical term for a simple eye, the kind insects and larvae use to tell light from dark, and this pendant has a pair of them — raw tsavorites, green and unpolished, sitting near the top of the piece and following the room. Below them the sterling silver is worked in the rough organic texture that has become German Kabirski's signature, and set into that wildness is a large pear-cut topaz, flawlessly faceted and entirely out of place, which is precisely why it's there. White rhodium and gold plating split the difference between cold and warm. The overall impression is of a creature rather than an object, and not one that particularly wants to be classified.
