The name Dareios is inspired by Darius I of Persia, one of the greatest rulers of the Achaemenid Empire, whose influence extended into the Hellenistic world. The portraiture style reflects Greek artistic influence on Persian iconography, a cultural exchange seen in seals from the Hellenistic and Greco-Persian periods (circa 4th–2nd century BCE).
