Description
Gryps, the Greek name for the griffin, was one of the ancient world's great guardian symbols, combining the eagle's wings with the lion's body to signify a creature strong enough to guard treasure, thresholds and sacred spaces. Griffin motifs appeared on royal seals and were worn as amulets by people, who believed the creature's protective power carried over into daily life.
At the center of this necklace is a genuine ancient artifact carved with a wing motif tied to that tradition, hand-carved thousands of years ago and kept in its original, unaltered state. German Kabirski set the carving into 925 silver, plated in white rhodium and 18K gold, with the gold worked specifically around the stone to frame the ancient carving. A green tourmaline sits alongside it, adding color against the aged surface of the artifact.
As an exclusive piece built on a genuine ancient artifact, it cannot be replicated.
