At its center sits an authentic ancient Neo-Sumerian steatite stamp seal dating to approximately the 21st–20th century BCE - over four thousand years old. The seal face bears an incised scene in the classic Neo-Sumerian tradition: a griffin rendered in the schematic but unmistakable visual language of a civilization that invented writing, law, and the city itself. Mythological creatures like the griffin were woven throughout Mesopotamian iconography as guardians, divine enforcers, and emblems of power at the threshold between the human and divine worlds.
